In real life, CPR or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation has much to offer. It is not only applied to save drowning victims but also performed on a person having a sudden cardiac arrest. In layman terms, a CPR can help to save a life during a cardiac or breathing emergency.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_give_CPR\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>How to give CPR?<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you\u2019re a paramedic student or aspiring to be one, then CPR is one of your important areas that you must have a good grip. Performing CPR during an emergency can be a challenge even for a trained person. Therefore, you must make sure to remember and administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation steps correctly.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Things_to_keep_in_mind_before_performing_CPR_%E2%80%93\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Things to keep in mind before performing CPR \u2013<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Approach the patient safely. Don\u2019t take any unnecessary danger to yourself<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Check for the response by tapping the shoulders and asking loudly whether he or she is fine<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ask someone to call the Ambulance<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Check for the presence of pulse in the neck for 5-10 seconds. Whenever you perform CPR on a person who is in cardiac arrest, it will manually preserve intact brain function until further measures are taken to restore blood circulation and breathing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There are three main steps performed in order to administer CPR\u2013<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Chest Compressions<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Airway<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Breathing<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Position_for_CPR\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Position for CPR<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">One of the important factorswhile administering CPR is the patient\u2019s position. You must make sure that the patient\u2019s position is as follow \u2013<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The patient\u2019s spine must be laying on a relatively hard surface, allowing effective compression over the sternum<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Performing a CPR while the patient is lying on a mattress will be less effective<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In order to achieve sufficient leverage to use the body weight to adequately compress the chest, you must be positioned high enough the patient<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Follow the steps mentioned above and practice them on a dummy for a better understanding of the process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Hope you are able to help someone during an emergency, if required.
