Objective and Curriculum of Continuing Nursing Education Course
The course objective of Continuing Nursing Education is to sensitize students of Nursing and Nurses to the need and impact of Palliation on the quality of life right from their ‘learning days’. This two-day course will focus on providing basic knowledge and skills in the care and communications to patients suffering from terminal diseases.
The Continuing Nursing Education course curriculum will cover the following topics:
- Introducing Principles of Palliative Care
- Ethics in Palliative Care
- Communication Skills (Breaking Bad News, Authentic Listening)
- Pain Management and Symptom Control
- High-touch and Low-tech Nursing Care with care-giver education
