Our SMART Academy for Healthcare, Pune is conducting a webinar on Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness – “Be an AMR Warrior – Protect, Prevent, Preserve” with Dr. Sadhana Sanjay Chate, Prof and HOD Microbiology, MIMER Medical College, (MIT) Talegaon, Pune. This webinar will provide a scientific and practical look at antimicrobial resistance (AMR), exploring how it develops, why it threatens global health, and what innovative strategies can curb its spread. It will also emphasize the crucial roles that healthcare professionals, policymakers, and communities play in protecting antibiotics, preventing infections, and preserving the effectiveness of life-saving treatments for future generations—empowering everyone to become an AMR Warrior.
Speaker Profile
Dr. Sadhana Sanjay Chate, Professor and Head of Microbiology at MIMER Medical College (MIT), Talegaon, Pune, brings over 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and clinical microbiology. She has presented and judged scientific work at various national and state conferences and has served in key institutional roles, including Member Secretary of the Hospital Infection Control Committee, Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee, and Institutional Animal Ethics Committee. A member of the Institutional Curriculum Committee and the MUHS Local Inquiry Committee, she has also published 26 research papers in reputed journals. With completed BCBR/MET and QMS-IA ISO 15189 (2022) training, Dr. Chate specializes in infection control policy assessment, antimicrobial stewardship, and laboratory leadership as the Director of the VRDL (RTPCR Laboratory).
